These programs can be designed in various orientations - from a few hour "taster" to a full 3 day program. The programs provide an understanding of how to build productive and innovative relationships through effective negotiation processes, and in particular the Principled Negotiation philosophy. The programs also explore the formation of alliances as a strategy and the various alliance forms. As an example, the following workshop was recently delivered for a client in Melbourne:
1. Introduction to Principled Negotiation.
During this session, a DVD was used to show acted role plays to highlight the particular element of Principled Negotiation being explored.
2. Preparation for Negotiation.
Participants were provided with a role play to be conducted in small groups. During this time, the participants conducted a preparation for the negotiation in small teams, using the Principled Negotiation framework provided.
3. Participants performed the Negotiation Role Play.
4. Debrief of the Negotiation Role Play.
5. Strategic Business Relationships - Why do most fail or underachieve, and how can we ensure ours are more successful?
During this session, participants were given insights to the work of Rosabeth Moss Kanter and its practical application to the building of business relationships. Further, we raised the awareness of inter-personal relationship dynamics and how these apply at the relationship interface. The negotiation role play experience was used to reinforce these insights.
